Korea Spring Trip: Jeju Island (Day 1 - Day 2)

Alhamdulillah, finally got some time to update this post.
Surprisingly, things still kept fresh in mind. Must be because I really enjoyed this trip.

Day 1 (2 May 2017)
Departure to Incheon, Korea - Arrival in Jeju

Izzah slept over at my house one day prior and kteorang gerak sama pagi-pagi naik Uber to KLIA 2.
Initially mama planned to send us to the airport, tapi mama mengantuk pula. Haha. So beruber la kami dengan duit uber disponsor mama. =P

5.15 am
Reached airport. Terus check in luggage and berkumpul di KFC.
Sebelum tu, pergi ambil Wiyo - portable wifi kat level 2, next to Toy's R Us. (One level below the departure level) Check out their website: Wiyo MY

Luggage, passport, handbag (yang oren tu Wiyo)
Early breakfast at KFC
Before masuk tempat waiting pun nak bergambar juga. Haha.
8.00 am
Alhamdulillah flight tak delay. Departed on time at 8 am. Serious bosan dalam flight. Nak tidur pun tak leh sangat sebab overexcited haha. So kerja makan snek, bual-bual, makan, tengok movie kat phone. Sampai lebam.

Macam biasa, kena fill up this custom form. Tulisan korea sebab yang english version dah habis. Gigih dok tanya passenger sebelah.

3.30 pm
Arrived at Incheon Airport at 3.30pm. Time ni memang genting sebab nak kejar flight dari Gimpo ke Jeju. Flight pukul 6.20pm. Kurang 3 jam huhu. Passed immigration and settle collect luggage pukul 4.25pm.

1. Airport railway - take all-stop train (KRW 3,750/ person)
2. Taxi (KRW 60,000)
3. Bus (KRW 5,000)

Initially ingat nak naik train, tapi bila dikira2 waktu, macam tak sempat. Sebab kalau nak naik train kena turun 1 level dari arrival hall, berjalan ke bangunan sebelah lagi. So, wasted time during walking. Therefore we decided untuk naik bas.

Seriously, awal-awal tercengang sebab banyak giler bus stop. Tak tau exactly yang mana. Tulisan kat bas mostly in korean. Terbata-bata membaca macam budak tadika.

4.35 pm
Time ni agak tenang, dah tak rush2. Sebab sempat check emel tadi, flight ke Jeju delayed, patutnya jam 6.20pm ke 7pm. Syukur panjang time tu, Allah permudahkan.

Bas 6014 ke Gimpo Airport.
Time dalam bas kena alert. Kat gimpo airport ada dua stop, first international, 2nd domestic, so take the latter. Awal2 kiteorang semangat dah nak turun yg 1st stop, nasib baik driver and conductor bas faham yang tourists mostly nak ke Jeju hehe.

5.10 pm
Di Gimpo airport, terus naik level atas untuk check in. Our flight to Jeju is Korean Air. Staff sangat membantu kteorang yang blur-blur ni. Kena pergi kiosk check in dulu before drop luggage. Aisyah tersalah beli flight so terpaksa la dia naik flight sorang2 even earlier than us since flight dia tak delayed.

Lepas drop luggage, kteorang cari tempat sesuai untuk solat.
Our secret place - bilik nursing. Haha. Ambil wuduk kat toilet and masuk bilik nursing dengan muka confident. (Take note: bring 3 bottles everywhere at anytime - one for nature's call, one for wuduk and another one for hydration)

Tempat check in, they separate foreigners dengan local. So jangan tersalah lane. Heee...
Jumpa 7 eleven, 1st thing to grab is...
Banana Milk!
Ok je rasa banana milk ni. Manis2 vanilla. Takde la mata sampai bersinar ada keluar bunga api semua. Haha.

Lepak2 sementara tunggu flight yang delayed tu. Sambil makan kek buah adik Izzah. Not a fruit cake fan but the
cake was delicious. (Mungkin sebab kelaparan juga.)

Acting tourist again. Tengah beratur nak naik flight.
Such a big flight for a domestic destination.
Sampai Jeju sudah!
Terus pergi clubbing! Haha. Not. Dalam bas heading to the Jeju airport terminal.

Sampai terminal, terus pick up luggage. Berjumpa semula dengan Aisyah hehe. Next, tunggu taxi. The only way yang paling effective to get to anywhere in town. And line die sangaaaaattttt panjang!! Tapi surprisingly, awaiting time tak lama sebab taxi keep on coming.

Tunggu taxi pun excited. Sejukkkkk...
Line depan panjang lagi.
Take note: make sure ada hardcopy of your homestay address (in korean) just in case sesat ke apa. And to make things easier. Just tunjuk kat driver and wallah. Haha.

From airport to our homestay took around 15 mins. Our homestay not exactly in town, so jauh sikit. Akhirnya sampai...

Bong Stay.
Tuan rumah dah bagi tau awal2 password pintu depan rumah, nombor bilik and password bilik sekali. Jakun awal2 haha.

Makan malam - instant mee.
Tuan rumah sempat ajar macam mana nak guna jamban. Sebab jamban canggih sangat. Lol

Expenses (Day 1)

  • Breakfast & Lunch (KFC) - RM 20.10
  • Airport transfer bus - KRW 5,000
  • T-money - KRW 50,000
  • Banana milk - KRW 1,300
  • Wiyo - RM 30.00/ person
  • Taxi KRW 10,900 - KRW 2,700/person

Total money spent = KRW 59,000 + RM 50.10

Day 2 (3 May 2017)
Exploring Jeju (1/3)

Bong stay tak provide breakfast but the allowed us to use their kitchen. Met up with Singaporean and Malaysian tourist - aunty from Perak, sangat friendly and talkative dengan loghat perak dia.
After had a simple breakfast, met the house owner. He was very helpful. Initially siap explained camne nak gi situ sini sambil tunjuk kat map. Dok cakap 'bat, bat'.
Awal-awal layankan je, rupanya dia maksudkan bas. Hujung-hujung kteorang cakap, kteorang sewa kereta sebenarnya. Hahaha. Kiteorang pun minta tolong tuan rumah untuk callkan taxi.

Morning sunshine!
8.00 am
Reached at the LOTTE rent-a-car company to get our rent car.
Dah booked earlier, and tinggal buat payment.
Kena tunjuk passport, IDP and credit card. Tak sure if they can accept debit card.

Our car. KIA Morning. The cheapest.

Last admission 6 pm
Parking: Free
Phone no: 7839900

Semua sudut of this place are beautiful! Dari entrance, tempat parking sumua cantik. Sangat worth it. Kecewa sikit sebab dorang baru tebas lalang2 tinggi coklat ala2 drama autumn in my heart tu. Sobs. Nonetheless, the view still spectacular.

Entrance
Cool breeze je, sampai best weather that day.

Terjumpa pula one family from Malaysia, dari Perak juga kalau tak salah, That uncle was really excited, he was like, kita Malaysians, let's take picture together. Hehe.

Korean Folk Village

Entrance fee: KRW 10,000/ person
Parking: free

Tempat ni pun cantik sebab banyak flowers. Ni juga tempat pergambaran drama Korea setting zaman-zaman dulu. (Cerita Jewel of the Palace kalau tak salah.)

Kat entrance. Kepanasan.

Disebalik senyuman itu.. Haha.

Jeongbang fall

Entrance fee: KRW 2,000/ person
Parking: free
Operating hours: 8.30 am - 6 pm
Phone: 7331530

Perut dah lapar tapi since ada extra time. We were heading south to Jeongbang fall. (Takut tak dapat cover places on next days) Decided for late lunch je nanti.

Sotong bakar that big for KRW 10,000
Sebab lapar, ku turutkan jua. Haha.
Model sotong bakar. Chewy tapi sedap gile. (I meant the sotong not the model.)

Time kiteorang pergi, tempat sangat padat. Kena accepts humans also part of the nature. It is better to wear suitable shoes, sebab kena lalu batu-batu ni. Jeongbang fall the only waterfall yang direct pergi sea in Asia (kot. haha.)

Mulmaegol

Phone: 7135486
Opening hours: 10 am - 8 pm

Mulmaegol is a Muslim Welcome restaurant di daerah Aewol. Maksudnya dia takde halal certificate tapi tak serve pork. It's a vegetarian restaurant. Food here has unique taste. Haha. I mean rasa sihat sangat. Dah nama pun vegetarian kan. Tapi tempat dia sangat comfy.
Spent KRW 11,000.

Decided untuk solat kat sini juga since the place also was quite spacious.

Paksa buka mata kepanasan.

Thank Allah I ordered bibimbap. At least it didn't taste all weird. Lol. Don't get me wrong. They all tasted weirdly good.
Serious.

View dari luar. Yang kecik kiri tu toilet dia.

Fefeeling environment rumah korea sangat.

Nak garden luar rumah macam ni...
Monsant Cafe

Phone: 7998900/ 7994999
Opening hours: 9 am - 8 pm

Kalau yang suka GD or Big Bang, mesti tau cafe ni. Cafe owned by GD, just right next to the Aewol beach. Just right on time, as we reached, the sun was setting. Mesmerized.
Area ni memang banyak sangat cafe. So parking lots limited, we had to park agak jauh. Tapi to reach this cafe, memang kena jalan masuk jalan kecik untuk sampai.

Monsant cafe.

Tengok jam baru pukul 7 lebih. Awal sangat ni. Rugi kalau terus balik. So ad hoc plan, we went to Seonwoonjeongsa temple. Tak ingat dah macamne kiteorang search kt GPS to reach this place. It's either we type in Korean alphabet or find the phone number.
Somehow, we managed to reach the place safely. Siap ragu-ragu until one point, nampak banyak kereta. So we assumed that's the place. Terus park kat tepi jalan.

Sebab banyak parking lot provided haha. Mengenangkan kena jalan balik untuk sampai kereta semula. Haru.

The temple sangat cantik macam pertunjukan lampu. Very colorful. And surprisingly ramai gila orang, and they all locals. Tak menyesal visit.

Frust sikit time kat sini sebab bateri dua-dua kamera dah out. Tinggal camera fon je. Dok cari-cari bateri spare dalam beg tak jumpa. Padahal rasa2 pagi tadi dah masukkan semua.

Sampai je homestay, the batteries were in my bag. Sabar jela. Tak de rezeki nak berposing sakan kat temple tu.

Well, that's it for now. To be continued. Salam.
